Dear family, friends and colleagues:
For those of you who do not know my story, I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer just over 11 years ago. I learned from my cancer diagnosis that life is very precious and I needed to live more in the moment, cherish every single day, have fun and make great memories with my family and friends. After my prostate cancer diagnosis, I quickly decided that surgery was the best option for me and to have my prostate removed. Looking back, I didn't take advantage of all the resources available to the thousands of men that are stricken with this disease every year. This is one of the many reasons I joined the Board of Directors of UsTOO International in 2017 and became involved in the education, advocacy and support of others that are dealing with Prostate Cancer.
For the past 2 years, I have participated in Sea Blue's Chicago 5k charity run - it has been inspirational and also very therapeutic for me. Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin, male-specific cancer in the US, affecting one in nine men and approximately 174,650 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019. It is very important to me to raise awareness about this disease and to raise funds for the support and education of men who are affected by it. Please join me in support of the prostate cancer community on September 15 in beautiful Lincoln Park, Chicago for the SEA Blue Chicago Prostate Cancer Walk and Run. You can join me for the walk or run in person, or donate to help the cause right here from my fundraising page. Proceeds benefit Us TOO International Prostate Cancer Education and Support Network, an organization that offers Support, Education, and Advocacy to the prostate cancer community.
UsTOO helps men with prostate cancer learn to fight this disease. The power of UsTOO is in helping men and those who love them, transform resignation into determination and fear into hope !!
Thank you for your support,
