More if you can, less if you can't)

SEA Blue is a celebration of life, of those who have risen to the challenge to fight prostate cancer, of the lives that have been lost to the disease, and of the people we will help to combat it in the future through Support, Education, and Advocacy (the SEA in SEA Blue). People affected by all stages of the disease band together and build camaraderie at SEA Blue through togetherness, tears and triumph.

Each September, close to 1,500 participants gather in beautiful Lincoln Park to participate in the SEA Blue walk and run to raise funds and awareness for those affected by prostate cancer. Unfortunately this year, due to restrictions related to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, the SEA Blue event will be virtual. We would like nothing more than to see everyone's bright smiles and lovely faces in person, like usual, but for safety reasons we are going to need to do it this year via live stream to computers and mobile devices everywhere.

We are doing our best to make this year's SEA Blue feel as close as possible to the rich experience found at the in-person event, with many of the same activities - including the walk, run, teams, fundraising, entertainment, information, and more. We have some exciting plans we are working on and look forward to sharing them soon. In the meantime here are a couple of interesting features of the 2020 SEA Blue event:

  • The virtual nature of the event means we are able to connect with people at any location via computers or mobile devices. This opens up the possibilities to engage with a larger national (or even international!) crowd. We hope, even though we are operating under some heavy restrictions, that this will open up the event to our largest audience ever!
  • This year has been a strange one. We have all felt the effects of COVID-19, whether they be physical, emotional, or financial. With this in mind, we are making this year's virtual event registration PAY WHAT YOU CAN! We do certainly aim to raise money to continue to help those affected by prostate cancer with Support, Education, and Advocacy at no charge. So we hope that you will still consider making a donation or helping us by fundraising. But we do not want to prevent anyone from joining us for this very positive, empowering, and educational experience.

Please plan on joining us on September 13th! Build a team, join a team, fundraise, donate, or just tune in for some great, valuable content. SEA you there!

SEE Blues at SEA Blue!
We are very excited to announce the entertainment lineup for SEA Blue. This year our entertainment will have a blues theme, with the following performers:

Bobby Rush!
Bobby Rush is a legendary, Grammy award winning blues artist. He is a Blues Hall of Famer, a 12 time Blues Music Award Winner, and B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. In a normal, non-COVID year, he would be touring the world. This year, he will be joining us virtually to offer words of encouragement to men as well as an exclusive acoustic SEA Blue performance.

Joseph "Mojo" Morganfield and the Mannish Boyz!
Joseph Morganfield is one of the top blues artists in Chicago. He will be performing at SEA Blue and streaming online. He will World Premiere a song from his upcoming CD release. Joseph is the son of blues legend Muddy Waters. He will speak to us about the importance of prostate cancer awareness and testing.

Matt Hendricks!
Matt Hendricks is keeping the blues alive with his gritty, heartfelt singing, old school guitar playing and genuine original songs. He has won the Windy City Blues Challenge in 2009 and 2016. Equally at home as a solo performer or with a band, Matt has always been a fan of the blues. We are happy to have Matt performing at the event and streaming online.

We will also be holding an auction which will give you a rare chance to own a variety of one-of-a-kind items, including:
- Two Signed Buddy Guy Guitars
- Two Signed Buddy Guy
- Vinyl Records
- Signed Sports Memorabilia
- And More!

Talk to the Docs!
